How do I print from my iPad ?
How do you create the "link' to your printer ?
Is my printer need AirPrint or just a wireless connection ?
Thank you

Certainly Printopia works. Is there any way to do *anything* other than choose number of pages? There are no printer specific options offered.
You can also use Airprint Activator to activate non-airprint printers on your network (similar to Printopia). You can download it here:

just another instance of Apple giving the rest of the world the middle finger! It's why I've resisted buying anything Apple. My son-in-law feels that way about Microsoft, he still uses it though cause they're not 1/10th as bad as Apple! Glad I didn't purchase my iPad, it was a gift and if I live long enough, I'll go back to an android system.
For those with PC's, try FingerPrint from Collobos Software. Costs about $10. Works well for shared printers on your network.

I agree. Although I already own an iPad2 as do my parents. I am no Apple fanboy though, and never will be. The Apple fans seem to think the world revolves around Apple, and it doesn't. In fact there are far more PC's in the world than there is Apple.
Its far easier and free (no having to buy extra programs) to print to a printer connected to a PC.
My daughter bought the new iPad and gave me her iPad 2' otherwise I wouldn't have one. I do like the fact that Apple doesn't seem to have problems with viruses and hackers that Microsoft products do. could it be the hackers virus creators are Apple fans?
I've just bought the Fingerprint new for windows software (£8) which seems to work beautifully. Once installed on my PC, my printers magically appeared on my Ipad (docs to go) and printed on my new non-airprint HP 4500 Wireless.
Thanks. I'll check it out.
Thank you shivalish, this free solution works well.
Has anyone used the new xprintserver from Lantronix? It's supposed to be plug-n-play to allow an ipad or iphone to print to almost any networked printer. Kinda pricey at $150 but if you have enough people connected it might be worth it.

THanks bunches! I was shocked to see that me printer was AirPrint capable.
Installed Printopia, Worked Flawlessly on the first try. Even sent an alert on my iPad that one of the colours was low. Fantastic. Thanks a lot!
check out the app store for HP ePrint, Epson iPrint and Brother iPrint and Scanner, they are all free. I use the Brother iPrint..works beautifully
It is ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE THAT YOUR PRINTER MUST BE AN AIR PRINTER!!!
Most printer manufacturers have FREE apps in the app store...HP ePrint, Epson iPrint, Brother iPrint and Scanner.
I have a MFC Brother that is not an air printer, I downloaded the Brother iPrint and Scanner from the app store on my iPhone 5 and iPad 2 and it works beautifully!!!!
Check it out and save yourself some serious $$$
Actually if you knew the history of Microsoft and Apple you would understand why there are so many more PC's used in the world. However, Microsoft has lost the edge and is so totally behind the times. I had the first PC from IBM and currently have 4 desk tops and 1 laptop. I also have the iPhone 5, iPad 2 and Mac Book Air 13in
I am rather new to the Apple line (since 2009 iPhone 3gs). As my PC's are dying, I am dumping them and replacing with Macs. My 2nd and 3rd laptops only lasted 2 years and are pieces of junk. My son has a Mac Book that is over 10 years old and still works like a charm...
Had Apple not been so crazy about keeping things under wrap, Microsoft would never have gotten where it did.
And quite frankly, I am more that sick of having multiple steps to load, delete, blah, blah, blah with crappy windows and PC's and paying insane prices for Microsoft software and upgrades!
