..I just really enjoy using the search button in my Safari as I am browsing the web, while I am listening to an Audio Book in the background with my iPad at the SAME time, while I am also downloading a new update of a latest magazine I have subscribed to in Zinio, while I have also set up my alarm clock to wake me up in the morning if I happen to fall asleep while I am doing all this with my iPad..
Try calling Apple Tech Support, or just restore one of your old backups. 3.2.2 is not going to be a long term solution, as you will be left behind. Thousands of experts have worked this software over for months. I sense that you are trying to start an online debate, or something is seriously wrong with your iPad.
*Option click* on
Restore on a Mac, *Shift click* on
Restore on Windows allows you to select an ipsw file to use to restore the iPad (or iPhone or iPod).
The .ipsw files are downloaded to ~/Library/iTunes/ in the appropriate folder (iPad/iPod/iPhone)

Shift click? Was this something able to be done with iTunes and a USB connection?
I just want know in case I find one of my apps is not 4.2 ready.
On the Mac it's Option-click on the Check for Updates button.
After downloading the desired firmware below, you can shift-click (PC) or option-click (Mac) the Restore or Update buttons in iTunes. A file dialog will open and let you choose the downloaded ipsw-file.
Strangely when I installed 4.2.1, a copy of 3.2.2 was in my recyle bin so I was able to just click that.
And yes using my Ipad via USB connection and ITunes, just click your Ipad and hold shift then click the "Restore" button and find the backup file, my file was called "iPad1,1
3.2.2_7B500Restore.ipsw"
I don't think the apps I was using were designed for multi-tasking and the performance was poor so until the apps are updated ill stick with 3.2.2
If you download and install the iOS4.2.1 update and then decide to go back to 3.2.2 does the 3.2.2 Ipsw file remain in the library/iTunes/iPad folder or is that file deleted and replaced by the 4.2.1 one?
I had the same slowness issue initially after updating my iPad to 4.2. After a few hours all was OK again. I am guessing that Spotlight is reindexing the contents of the iPad in background when the new version of iOS is first installed.
