my iphone will not turn on

OMG THANK YOU. I turned my iphone off and it wouldnt turn back on, even though though there was the apple logo on it. I followed to steps and it worked out perfectly! Thank you so much!

Ya, my 3gs iphone today decided it wont turn on OR be recognised as existing by any pc, ive tried reseting it but i get nothing, can anyone help?

I have done everything you said in the previous and once it gets to about 25% left of restoring it kicks it off with a error (1) message. help please!!!

now ive got the phone on but the touch screen wont let me do anything

Thank you very much. I was really concerned there was something wrong with my phone. I tried different power points and nothing just dead. Pressed the on/off and home and the apple logo came up.

Good stuff wjosten! You know, the question still remains, why does this happen? I've had the iPhone 4S since launch and this has happened twice now? The first time, I kept plugging and un-plugging it and it finally came to? Any knowledge why this could be happening?

You rock. Mine literally just shut down in the middle of a phone call yesterday afternoon and I've been dealing with this since then. At this point it's actually staying on the "connect to iTunes" screen while waiting for iTunes to finish downloading the software for the restore. Hope it stays on.

I had the same problem today: my iPhone 4 just went blank for no reason and didn't react on anything.

So I took it to the store. I guess the guy from the store did the same things as suggested here, I mean connecting the iPhone to the computer and holding the home and power buttons simultaneously, and my iPhone was fixed. BUT when I asked what was the reason of this sudden disaster, he said that I had my applications on, that is, when you click the home button to close your apps it does not actually make your apps shut down, and apps on makes your iPhone "tired" from time to time. So you have to double click on the home button, then click on the app icons until they start wiggling and until the red signs appear. Then you have to click on that red signs to make your apps close and then with one click of home button your phone goes back to normal. I know that's quite frustrating but I guess you have to go through this procedure occassionally.

What about error 3194? I cannot get my phone to restore
