i was updating my iphone 4 to the new software and itunes quit in the middle and left my phone saying connectg to itunes. now when i plug it in it does not show up into itunes or windows to connect. its stuck. i have restarted and everything.

I tried that and the connect to itunes screen keeps showing up but nothing does in windows or itunes
Try quitting iTunes, then restarting the desktop; it sounds like iTunes might be stuck in a loop of its own
already tried that. twice. the phone wont even show up on my desktop like it used to.
If you haven't tried DFU recovery mode, have a go

If that doesn't work, I suspect an issue with one of the Apple sync apps on the desktop. Any chance of trying this out on another PC, just to see whether it shows up there?
