Iphone 4 keeps randomly shutting down.

So after a trip from **** in DC my phone was stolen. I had to go flat out buy a new one and now the darn thing keeps shutting down anytime I get any sort of anything done on it. It can just be sitting there and shut down.

Has anyone heard of this problem before? If so what did you do?

I don't have an apple store close to me, and AT&T said to call apple. I have an appointment on the phone with them this evening, I'm just curious if this happens alot and if so should I just look into switching back to my blackberry?
