Setting up IPad for use with 802.1x wireless network

I am trying to set up one of our company IPads to work with our 802.1x wireless network. I have followed the steps in the following two articles to get the profile/certificate installed properly.

I have NDES configured on my internal certificate authority and have used the IPhone Configuration Utility to set up a profile for SCEP. When I run the install on my IPad it runs to the "Enrolling certificate" step then fails. I am seeing the following messages in my console log:

Desc : The profile Internal Wireless Access could not be installed.

Sugg : The Registration Authoritys response is invalid.

US Desc: The profile Internal Wireless Access could not be installed.

I have done many searches on the Internet trying to figure out what this message means. Has anyone else seen this message? How can I fix it?
