iMessage and FaceTime not working

Hi,

I updated my IOS to 5.1 the other day, and since then neither iMessage nor FaceTime has been working correctly. I'm currently studying abroad in Spain, so my phone number is deactivated. I still have my apple ID on my phone however, which should be enough to use iMessage and FaceTime. When I go into settings, it says iMessage is "waiting for activation". I obviously can't call customer support either, as my phone is deactivated. Apple is really making me angry now. Updating the phone took away my iMessage and FaceTime abilities, and now I can't even contact them because they don't believe in email support. Can anyone propose a solution to my problem? It would be much appreciated!

Yes I confirm You that we've got the same problem

the fact is that if you memorised your password

in face time and iMessage and you try to go inside

it says that an error happened and you've got to retry

so if u try to go with creating a new account it says

that the connection with Face time and iMessage

failed so you have to retry

the problem is not for AT&T is of the Apple server

I had a confirmation about it from AT&T they saiid

that Apple is having some problems

i hope that they will fix it asap

Hi,

I'm using T-Mobile as my mobile provider.

I can still use iTunes and apps store.

I've now tried restoring it to "new phone" no-change.

I've confirmed my apple ID.

My wife's is on t mobile as well, both phones on the same account and her's works.

Interesting that there are reports of this all a cross the world?

Thanks

Jim

Likewise my girlfriend and I wanted to FaceTime and I message, it will not work then when she signed out and signed back in it said error in activation. I believe it's a network problem. I'm waiting for what apple will say to help us all out. My iPad oddly enough works fine, I can make calls to face time and I message but on my g.fs it did not work before we signed out of the apple I.d. Now she can't sign on but surfing on safari is fine. I tried everything mentioned from changing the dns of 8.8.8.8 , 8.8.4.4 and it didn't help, along with everything else

I called Verizon Wireless who said the iMessage servers are down and should be restored by 11PM EST. I also called AppleCare and they said that the iMessage servers are being upgraded and will be available in 1-2 days. They seemed open to the idea about compensation and additional text messages are being used.
