Ok I have noticed alot of the same posts but my iPhone 3Gs is restarting every second not minute. It started when I went to restore my phone cause i saw for some odd reason i had over 2gb of memory being waisted by "other" what ever makes that up, anyways so after i restored it I told it to restore from back up ever since then it keeps restarting. help please :-/ ???😕😟

Update: So far so good just wish I didn't have to do all this just to try an get it to work properly. the phone displayes the apple logo and the progress bar.
Just be careful not to interrupt the process. At the end you will be given the option to restore to your backup, which will restore your settings and data.
Did the restore and didn't interrut it then restored it form backup and its still restarting every second..
Then the next step is to try the process again, this time restoring as a new iPhone rather than from backup. (The restore may not have worked if the source of the problem is contained in your backup.) If restoring it as new doesn't resolve the problem then it is probably a hardware problem and you will need to take it to the Apple store for evaluation. I would save a copy of your backup to your desktop before proceeding so it isn't accidently overwritten. If it is a hardware problem and you end up replacing the phone you will want to restore your new phone from this backup in order to keep your data and settings. You will find the backup at one of these locations:
I have tried the process again but i restored it from an newer backup earlier i tried with the old back up but so far the problem has been resolved but I wish I could access the photos on my camera roll from the old back up have a clue as to how to do that and to make it eassier on helping me I am using an G5 iMac runing OSx 10.6.8
You would need to use 3rd party software to extract them from your backup such as iPhone Backup Extractor.

Ok I have dowloaded the extractor app and downloaded mono because it told me that that was the only way to run the extractor now what do I do?

Yea, I noticed that. Just turn the sound off and you'll probably get the idea of how to run the software. Looks pretty straightforward: start the program, agree to their user license, select your backup, select what you want to restore, select you destination, click Finish. Otherwise, you'll need to send them a message.
