Mic not working on iPad 2

Hi guys I got a problem with my iPad 2 white 32 gb wifi only microphone volume. I bought my iPad 2 when it first came out it fits my needs worked well since I got it but a couple months ago I have been getting problems with my mic when I talk to people via apps such as Skype and FaceTime , everyone tells me my mic is too low but a couple months before the mic stopped working it was working fine they can hear me from far away. So now they can't hear me unless I yell straight into the mic. The bad thing is, is that my warranty on the iPad just ran out is there a way I can get mic fixed or put warranty on it so they can fix the iPad, because I use my iPad a lot and I talk to people on here so I would like this problem to be fixed.

Thanks guys if you now a solution tell me ASAP thanks!

Put a vacuum to the mic in case there is dirt in it!

Re: location of the mic, I have an iPad 2 and the mic is on the top edge (if the iPad is standing vertically). If unsure, it's likely your mic still picks up some sound or vibration transmitted through the iPad case. So to determine the mic's location, install a recording app or sound wave app. Run the app and tap or slide your finger across what you think is the mic. The mic should pick up the tapping or finger-sliding noise. By trial and error, figure out which hole is likely your mic. On the iPad 2, it's an increbdibly small hole that isn't big enough to take a jack or any other plug-in.

Just did some preventative maintenance and vacuumed out the mic again.

I tried to clean the mic hole with a fine brush, it didn't work.

Using the magnifying glass from my swiss army knife, I can see that he mesh covering the mic hole is clean.

So the dirt must be inside. Using the narrow tip of my vacuum cleaner, passing it across the mic hole few times does the cure. Unbelievable.

Yayyyyy for the fix! Mine has been broken for a couple of months. I'd given up on it until a friend told me her husband had fixed her iPhone, same problem, by sticking a pin in the mic hole. I tried scraping mine with a pin, to no avail. Googled a fix again (I'd googled when it first went bad) and this thread came up. Vacuumed, and voila. Fixed!!! You are Apple geniuses!
