My iphone 4s won't charge. I have tried several different wall plugs and the USB into the computer. When I plug it into the USB it say the diverse is not recongized.

Have you also tried with a different USB cable?
Try basic troubleshooting steps.
1) Turn your phone OFF and ON again.
2) Reset your phone. Press and hold sleep/wake up button on top along with the home button for over 10 seconds; ignoring the red slider till Apple logo appears.
I have tired two different USB cords plus several wall plugs that aren't USB cords. I have also done the reset on my phone several times as well. Short of going to the Apple store today anyother suggestions?

I had the same problem after I dropped my phone in water. Everything works fine except it will not charge while the phone is turned on, however I discovered that when I shut it off it charged. The phone remains off while it's charging and doesn't show the Battery and Plug-in logo, but it still charges.
