i do not know what happened, but the rotation lock icon is up on my ipad and the rotation button isn't unlocking it.

I've had this happen to me once but a quick turn off and on should do the trick!
If it doesn't tell me because there are a variety of methods to combat this!
Hope it worked
1. Make sure the Side Switch is set to Lock Rotation: Settings>General

2. Now check the Side Switch to make sure it's in the unlock position

1. Double-click the Home button and swipe to the right
2. Check if rotational lock is enabled
