Stuck on last part of iOS 6 update on iphone 4. Downloaded, prepared, installed first part of black screen and progress bar, stuck on last part of black screen with progress bar. Been waiting for 45 minutes or so. Should I just let it go? Or has it failed and I need to restore? Anyone else get same problem?
Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.7.2), 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5. 8GB Ram
Had the same problem, empty progress bar for probably about an hour. But it finally started moving and progressed quickly. almost done now.

Same here on iPad 2, been stuck for ages no progress at all, been waiting for over 30 mins so far.
iPad 3 was completed ages ago, no problem there.
I'm seeing a delay at the Preparing Update after the download is complete on my iPhone 4s. I'll be patient as the update applied with no issued to my new iPad.
I had same problem. I eventually force shut down and restarted. Then, same progress bar came up for about 5 minutes, then quickly filled and completed. This is a risky method, but worked for me!

I had a similar experience. After installing the update, in what looked like the first post-update boot up, I had an Apple logo with an empty status bar for about 20 minutes before it sprang into life and finished booting.
Same issue here on a 4/32GB. I forced the reboot. Once it rebooted it installed lightning quick.
Same here with my iPhone 4. Stuck on the progress bar screen for ages, but a forced reset and within 2 minutes the bar stared moving and progressed to the end.
a little patience goes a long way. Mine finished preparing and updated while I went to lunch. All is well.
Ditto for me. Except I left my iPhone 4S at my desk while I went to a 40 minute meeting. It was complete when I got back. It seems to progress much slower when you are staring at the screen while waiting 😉.
Mine was stuck on the second black screen with an empty progress bar for over an hour. finally I'd had enough and force-restarted it. Now it's on that screen AGAIN, for over an hour. Don't dare restart again... Hopefully will come back soon?!
I can confirm that after waiting about an hour and a half, my phone went through the process, restarted and is working perfectly.
After 2 hours of no movement on the progress bar (that was about 25% complete) I forced it to reboot and it finished fine. I might restore it just to be safe.
