I just got my Iphone 5 today, and all is amazing except that when I talk on the phone withouth headsets the volume is low and I have it to the max! When I use it with the headsets however, is great. Any advice? Should I take it to the store to get it replaced? Or should I just do a factory reset?

I had the same problem. What I did was go to Settings, General, International. Then, I changed the Language from English to British English & exited. Then I changed it back to English. For whatever reason, this made a HUGE difference in call volume. Hope it works for you!
Absolutely crazy! Was having volume issues with music and video playback after a settings reset (still trying to squash the wifi bug) and this crazy solution fixed my audio problem at least.

Yep, just did the whole plastic on the front thing as well. Normally, I'd just put a proper screen protector on immediately, but I forgot to get one, so left the original one on, with the intention of replacing it tomorrow.
The thing is, it looked like it had a hole in it for the earpiece. Anyway, thanks for the now seemingly obvious solution. Saved me an embarrassing trip back to the shop.
Ayone having problem with low volume on music playback on the ear pods?
My ipod nano and ipad play sound much better.
I have tridd everything from setting the volume limit to max to checking for any EU settings. Haring aid mode didnt help. Keyboard is set to us english but was set to british when setting up my iphone as new probably because of country selected being 'India'.
Any help?

All..... I had the same problem but took my iphone5 into the Apple store in Milton Keynes today.
The 1st geek connected his own head set to my iphone5 and he said "Seems fine to me" so I asked him if he had an iphone and then got him to do the same with his own iphone5... He immediately realised that something was wrong with mine.
Within 20 minutes I was given a free of charge replacement and I can assure you all that this fixed the problem.... Now I cannot listen to my headset on full volume
Get yourself to an Apple Store now... It's obviously a fault or early build problem

Well, I didn't do so on the first 15 days. I even called their respectful customer service and it seemed that they didn't have a clue even after remotely diagnosting the phone. Finally, cover off. Sound up.
Thank you guru2080. I couldn't hear anything with apple headphone earbuds, went to Music Settings, set Volume Limit at Maximum, and yay I can hear! Thanks 🙂
I also had this problem. I removed the film and that wasn't enough so I went into the Settings>General>Accessibility>Hearing Aids and it will ask you to turn on your Bluetooth, just click cancel and then click on the hearing aid mode button to turn it on. Now it is really loud. Hope this helps.
Switching the OS International language worked for me. Volume settings now sound louder, as they were before.
