iPhone 5 unable to sync with iTunes Macbook 2007

I have the Macbook 2007 laptop, and I am unable to update my itunes because i am not running Mac OS C 7 or higher. I am not going to get a newer laptop because my new iphone will not sync with my old data, and I have photos that I do not want to lose that was backed up. Please tell me what I could do. Thank you.

I'm having the same problem. I understand what the system requirements are, but I simply didn't notice them when I ordered the phone.

At any rate, I called Apple today and ordered Snow Leopard. It's a barely newer version of an old operating system ... but it should do the trick. Snow Leopard is 10.6 and you can download the 10.6.8 update on Apple's site once SL is installed.

After I receive the DVD in the mail (really? no download? ridiculous...) I'll install iTunes 10.7 and all should be well. Until then, my iPhone 5 will just be a paperweight.

Good luck!
