iPod Touch, 1st Gen., iOS 3.1.3 App Problem

I have an iPod Touch 1st Gen running on iOS 3.1.3

I have downloaded several free apps with no problems, however, a few of them won't actually 'run'. They load and install, but when I go to use them, the main app screen will pop up for a few seconds (saying loading) then go off. The apps that won't work are either for iOS 3.0 or later ~ or 3.1.3 or later so I'm not sure what's causing the conflict.

Would appreciate any help in getting these up and running. Thanks!! 🙂

- Reset the iPod, nothing is lost

Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Purchase/install any new app

- The remaining items of:

iOS: Troubleshooting applications purchased from the App Store

- Last, restore the iPod

Thanks IIIaass, however this didn't work for me for 2 out of the three apps. It did for one. ???

Not sure I want to restore just for a couple of apps. But wouldn't I lose everything on the iPod just to sync with what's on my computer in iTunes again? And then have probs with the same apps?

I would try restoring from backup. As long as you have all the synced media like apps and music in your iTunes library the iPod will be like it was when the backup was made.

OK, so another question. I just updated to 3.1.3. When I backup, will it be restored as 3.1.3, or the original 2.?

Is restoring a 100% fix for the non-working apps or just a probability? I've only had this iPod for apprx. 1 month and obviously it's used. Still learning my way around.

- Restoring will retain iOS 3.1.3

- Restoring is not a 100% fix, especially restoring from backup since there may be some corruption in the backup that is causing the problem.
