iPhone 5, Lightning to 30-pin Adaptor & Apple 30-pin Digital AV Adapter

I have an Apple 30-pin Digital AV Adaptor working nicely with my iPhone 4 and 4S.

I just bought iPhone 5 and I would like to know if I bought the Lightning to 30-pin Adaptor, will I be able to use it along with the Apple 30-pin Digital AV Adaptor?

Nope:

In the notes it says "3. Apple AV adapters cannot provide video output when used with Lightning to 30-pin Adapter or Lightning to 30-pin Adapter (0.2 m) adapter."

Also there's a difference in what is spec'ed to be supported as these guys pointed out http://www.iclarified.com/24410/new-iphone-5-may-not-support-video-out-over-ligh tning-connector :

iPhone 5: TV and Video

● AirPlay Mirroring to Apple TV support at 720p

● AirPlay video streaming to Apple TV (3rd generation) at up to 1080p and Apple TV (2nd generation) at up to 720p

iPhone 4S: TV and Video

● AirPlay Mirroring to Apple TV support at 720p

● AirPlay video streaming to Apple TV (3rd generation) at up to 1080p and Apple TV (2nd generation) at up to 720p

● Video mirroring and video out support: Up to 1080p with Apple Digital AV Adapter or Apple VGA Adapter (adapters sold separately)

● Video out support at 576p and 480p with Apple Component AV Cable; 576i and 480i with Apple Composite AV Cable (cables sold separately).

Not sure what you mean by "useless for the app radios". Most devices a have a simple line-in jack, which you can connect to from the iPhone's headphone jack via s stereo-mini to stereo-mini wire. If you need to connect RCA inputs go from the iPhone's headphone jack with a stereo-mini to RCA y-cable.

Also, a lot of modern cars and AV receivers also allow you to connect for audio via USB. And many AV receivers have a front HDMI port for quick connections, which you can use for audio as well.

I have not yet seen a lightning version of the composite AV cable with the RCA connectors you mention, however, though the old 30-pin cable won't support video through the lightning-to-30 pin adapter, it will support audio (aside from specs, I've personally successfully gotten sound out of it though the lighting to 30-pin adapter). That cable is here:
