How to reduce "Other" disk use?

You can reset your iPhone. Otherwise, delete stuff like read email, data files, etc. as this is what uses the Other space.
I use Gmail for email. Even though it isn't a POP account (it's IMAP), you are saying this could take up a significant amount of space? I have it set to show only 50 messages, which are text. I would think this would be extremely small.
What do you mean by data files?
If you mean data used by apps, I don't have many apps. The entire of them take up 1.54GB of space. I don't use apps much. None of these should be consuming much space.
It's possible you need to sync with itunes or restore your current backup. If you don't have a current backup or the backup is corrupt, then you should restore as new.
I currently have iTunes set to "Back up to this computer" for the iPhone. In that case, I should not be concerned that anything will be lost in a restore from backup? Is there anything that might not restore or something I should be aware of before doing the restore?
There are some things that do not get backed up, but I don't have a list. It would include data files for some apps, game scores, possibly in-app purchases, for example.
Excessive "Other" (>1GB) is usually due to corrupted metadata not assigning data correctly. It usually is fixed by restoring the phone in iTunes using a backup. Rarely, the backed up data is the problem, and you need to restore as new, without using the backup.
As to what is contained in backups, see this:
Why should I restore as new? Does that mean I have to spent a lot of time rebuidling the iPhone?

Re-read my last post.

Yup.
Ok. Since everything should be backed up to the Macbook and I decide to go with a new restore, most stuff will come from iCloud:
- contacts
- notes
- calendar
- safari
And music is a drag/drop since I have playlist.
But since this is a new restore, what will not be so easy to put back onto the iPhone or gain access to from the backup? For example, voice memos are not in iCloud and I'm not sure where exactly they will backup. They don't need to go back onto the iPhone but I'd like to have access to them. If I'm not mistaken, voice memos sync everytime in iTunes with a playlist called 'Voice Memos'? I wasn't sure if that is something I created or the backup created.
the solution :
go to google , search for phone clean , download and connect ur device to computer then make clean , it will appear all data files on your device that ur apps use , delete files u no need , delete facebook files.
phoneclean , without space
It only works for Windoz.
