iPhone 5 consuming too much cellular data

On the ATT network and iphone 5 is consuming way too much cellular data. Large chunks of data sent when I'm not using the phone. Have had iPhones for 3 years and have never touched 4G and his 3G in one week. I see Verizon had a problem/solution. Any chance with ATT?
