Why doesn't my iphone 5 have 4G / LTE?
iPhone 5, iOS 6
Do you actually have an iPhone 5?
Does your carrier have an LTE network?
From what I have seen, and I do not have an iPhone 5 so I can only go based on the User's Guide, there is no option to turn LTE off or on in Settings.
Yes I have iPhone 5 - why else would I write a post like this?
I don't know if my carrier has LTE or not but I remember with all my previous iPhone's (3GS, 4, 4S) there was always an option to enable 3G whether or not the carrier supported 3G.
So I'm confused why this is different.

People do really unintelligent things from time to time.... always a good idea to verify their brain was plugged in and turned on when asking interesting questions. 🙂

If they do not have LTE, then it's a none issue.
The 4S initially did not have the option to disable 3G... it was only added later, 5.0.1 I believe.
There is no option, based on the User's Guide, to disable LTE. This has nothing to do with LTE being on the device or not. LTE is on all iPhone 5's.
the iphone 5 with ios 6 does have an option to enable LTE under Setting/General/Cellular - it may only come up if your carrier supports LTE on a frequency the iphone supports
When i put a T-Mobile sim in my iPhone 5 to test out something the LTE option went away and it went back to Enable 3G
Have you a LTE (4G )service provisioned with T-mobile whom I assume are your carrier
You didn't have 4G/LTE because your carrier DIDNT support it on iPhone 5 yet. I use starhub too and recently I have had a notification saying my carrier had an update and when I checked my Cellular again it had the 'Enable LTE' Button!
