Mini will not hold wifi connection. Every few minutes I am forced to find my home network and log back in. Ios6.0.1 thing? Everything is updated and settings have been normalized.
1. Try changing the router security e.g. WPA2, WPA, WEP
2. Try changing channel e.g. channel 1, 6 or 11
Also, try Settings, select the network name, click on the blue arrow to Forget This Network and try signing in again.
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

I have had the same problem you all are having. I got so frustrated called AT&T cause they are my service provider. They changed everything out and still couldn't hold a connection. Finally I gave up. Apple sorry but they couldn't tell me why I couldn't keep a connection more then 3 feet way from my router. They tried everything they could a bunch of my friends are having the same problem. Gonna take it back and get the iPad 4. But I loved it for the few weeks it worked

Nothing seemed to work but thanks for the suggestions I just went back to best buy and returned it for the iPad 4 and if they come out with a mini that stays connected I will be one of the first ones to get it lol. Till then I have my kindle fire hd and iPad 4

I drank the Cool Aid and bought the Mini and I am having the same problems with connectivity. I have reconfigured my wireless modem, reset the Mini numerous times, blah, blah, blah. I'm fed up. My $900 Samsung 7 Chronos is smoking hot. My HTC One X also. While the Mini sits next to them with its blackened screen from time outs in trying to connect. You're lucky. You live in the States and can return a product. I live in Thailand and there's no such thing as this product is not defective-from their POV anyway. I am now the proud owner of a $400.00 paper weight!
Hey I am so sorry for your new paper weight. I did get lucky cause I was able to return it to the store but when I did I got looks and the stores customer service said they were able to hook up to the stores wifi but I really didn't see how they could just didn't make sense to me till I found out that they carry wifi on them. Hmm no wonder. In the end I upgraded to the iPad 4 and I love it. If you can't take it back can you not upgrade it like I did? And won't apple take it back? I don't use Samsung products so had no clue what you were saying lol and I switched from my htc to a Motorola better picture quality. Lol have a nice day
Hey lens can you not take it back to the store telling them you decided you didn't want it? It didn't work for your needs? Did you call apple about it cause I did and after a few hours on the phone with them the mini still did not work so they are the ones that advised me either to bring the product to an apple authorized dealer or since it was within the 30 day period for return I did take it back to the store and up graded. Just a thought
