iPad Mini: Black spec under glass?

Discovered today I tiny black speck of something *under* the glass, but above the actual LCD display. Its casting a grey shadow of equivalent dimensions onto the display, when viewed from an angle. Definately under the glass.

On a white background this speck is actually quite noticeable. Unit purchased two weeks ago and will be returning it as soon as the stores have stock. Anyone else encountered this issue?
