My kids put a passcode on my ipod, and they can't remember it. It says I need to wait over 22 million minutes before trying again?! I tried recovery mode, but the bugger is that it never shuts off... just restarts (after sliding the red slider). Even so, I try holding the home button, and it just comes back to the horrid "disabled" screen... itunes says I need to enter the passcode... help?

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

Neither of these methods work because the ipod never powers down. It just restarts.
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Yeah... already tried draining the battery fully. I'll try the battery recharge for a few hours and try again. The thing that's throwing me is the 22 million + minutes to try again. I just about pooped myself laughing.
Do you know how many attempts you took? How many times was it disabled. I've heard of a lot of minutes to try again, like yours before.
No idea. Knowing my the kids, they probably just kept guessing and guessing before admitting failure. but 22 million... WOW!
