My ipad mini keeps losing wifi connection

I returned my first mini last week because it kept dropping wifi connection. Our home has a ipad 1, ipad 2 and two 2nd gen ipods. All of them keep there wifi connection all the time. I am really frustrated and disappointed in the mini. If this is not resolved soon I may consider other tablets. Anyone have suggestion.thanks.

Enough folks have the same problem, it should have been recognized by Apple by now, instead of frustrating their supposedly valued customers. I went through all the fixes over the phone with AppleCare, then when the problem recurred they told me to go see the genius at my local Apple Store, which is 50 miles from home. Well, the genius did his thing and said it was probably the antenna but he couldn't replace it, so if it happened again send it to the factory. So, after a few days it happened again and the factory sent me a FedEx mailer to I could send it to them. FedEx is another 50 miles from home, so there I went hoping to get it fixed this time. So, the next day I get the ipad returned, the factory couldn't get the internet connection to fail, so what's the problem? I said okay, let's hope the third time is a charm, but, alas, it happened again after a few days. So now, after going through 3 factory resets and software upgrades Apple has finally consented to replace my ipad.

How much did all this back and forth cost Apple? How much did it cost me, the struggling, disappointed customer, who has spent many hours and gas and tolls running here and there and still stuck with a defective product?

Whatever happened to Six Sigma?

How many customers are there out there who are living with the problem, or who just threw the product away swearing never again to buy an Apple product?

P.S. I had a minor issue with Mercedes Benz and it took 4 dealers to finally figure it out, just a defective hose. Point being, I won't ever buy another Mercedes.

Some things to try first:

1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)

• Launch Settings app

• Tap on Wi-Fi

• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list

• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

Same issue. I have exchanged mine TWICE. I started out with the 32 gig wi-fi + cellular model, made an even exchange. Same issue. Exchanged it again at a different store for 64 gig wi-fi only model, same exact issue. Updated to iOS 6.1, hard resets, soft resets, network resets, it's still happening. It hapens over a variety of networks, work, home, Starbucks, airports. I have received absolutely NO response from Apple and have not been able to replicate the issue at the Apple Stores. I've been using Apple products since 1986, I've never been more disappointed in a product by them.

Same problem her, we have 2 iPads and 2 iPhones that never lose connection, we only bought the mini a week ago but it keeps losing connection, usually when in YouTube. We've installed the new update 6.1.2 but the problem is still there. I was going to take it backto the shop but if other people are having the same problem, it strikes me the issue is with the mini.

Worth trying manually setting up the wii connection on your mini. Firstly ignore the connection for your wii so the mini disconnects, the power off the mini with a reset, the manually add the wifi connection instead of it auto connecting to the wifi. This seems to have solved things for me, although I generally think the mini has a lower wifi signal strength than my other devices. Worth a try. Also have http proxy set to off not auto.

None of the above solutions have worked for me. I tried every thing - changing the router, changing router password, changing router channel, settings.... This is like the worst technology experience I ever had in my life. I bought this iPad mini with cellular & wifi as I travel all the time and this could have kept me connected on the go. But this has turned out to be the worst nightmare.

Does anyone know the refund policy for iPad Mini. I dont want to own this useless device which its not serving my purpose. Unfortunately this problem is faced my only few customers and hence Apple is least bothered to fix the issue. I guess only way out is to get a refund as replacement devices are also not working

Really disappointed with Apple on this one....

It looks to me - reading all these messages - that a lot of people have problems with connecting their iPads to their home WiFi. I certainly have and I don't have a Mini but an iPad4. So all of you out there - you know you are not alone and it is not just YOU!

Now my problem is that when the iPad does eventually connect it always asks me for my Password - which is a real nuisance. Is there any way to avoid this?

And once again - thanks Texas Mac Man - I am stilll looking at your suggestions!

As usual with all the latest products by Apple is just a matter to turn off - turn on turn left - turn right, etc. I am just sick that those esential problems are treated as problems that point to the user and not to the product. Something is very rotten when Apple just can´t assure a REAL quality control of their products and redirects the blame to their users (example: an iphone 4s used for many many days as an expensive ipod touch by the grace to an obligatory official update and no excuses). Such a shame!

I'm not expecting "a recall" or a "fix" or whatever shameful excuses, not even when the "customer support" here in Mexico is but a joke. Go on and make the best of your "shares" in the stock market.

Way to go Apple!
