can a USB flash drive be used with iPad?
I have a brand new Retina Display iPad. Is there any way to attack a USB flash drive to it?
Thanks,

make that ATTACH a USB flash drive. The venue where I want to use my iPad and a USB thumb drive does not have wi-fi access. I asked. :-(
Some USB Flash drives have been reported to work with the Camera Connection Kit. However, the only thing you can read from them is photos. The photos must have 8-character file names and be stored in a folder called DCIM. You cannot write to them.
Too bad that the answer is NO! I can't use a USB; I can't read email attachments without wi-fi; I can't do anything that I need to do with this paperweight called an iPad. :-(
I read email attachements without WiFi just fine. I just download them before I have no network connectivity. If you took the trouble to, oh, read the manual or perhaps do a bit of research, you might find that you can do most of what you need to do with your iPad.
