I have a iPad mini and I need your help to tell me how to transfer photos from a CF card into a Ipad mini when I don't have my MacBook.
I tried with a card reader + USB to Lightining but the iPad Mini doesn't recognize it.

A lot of card readers require more power than is supplied to the kit - if you have a CF-only reader then you might have a better chance of it working (or try a powered reader).
If you've copied the photos onto the card yourself then you need to create a DCIM directory off the root of the card, with the photos underneath it, and the photo filenames need to be exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension i.e. in a similar format as if a camera had created/written them

MICgadget makes a CF card reader for the iPad. It's not approved by Apple, though.

Thanks for your answers. The card reader you sugest, Tgara, is for the firsts iPad, not for the iPadmini (nor the iPad4), the connection is different. But it is what i look for :-)

You may want to consider using the USB to hook your camera directly up to your iPad. I have a old vivitar card reader that will work with CF cards, but it's a model that's not even made anymore.
It looks like what you need is CF to Lightening, so I'd search amazon. I've always had good luck there finding unique bits and pieces.

Yes, what I look for it's precisely a CF to Lightening device. I searched amazon and other sites but... no.
I'll bring my camera cable to connect it with the iPadmini via the adapter.

Can you put a CF 30 pin card reader into the 30 pin to lighning adapter??

its possiblle, though you might need a powered USb hub in between, if the rader requires more power than the iPad can provide.
My Camersa usues CF cards. To transfer photos I connect my camera, with the card inside, to the Camera Connection Kit which is connected to my iPad. Once I turn the camera on I cal transfer photos from the card to the iPad.

It seems to be the only way, as there's not (yet) an CF to lightning adapter.

And.. yes, you are right, the set CF 30 pin card reader+ 30 pin to lighning doesn't have power enough for the transfer.
