How come the iPad does not support adobe flash?

Please use the Forum search function to find countless discussions on Flash.

Adobe has ceased development of flash for all mobile devices.

iOS and Android (jellybean) do not support flash.

It is dead and gone for mobile devices.

Adobe just put up a new link for all Jelly Bean 4.0+ devices.

I have a brand new Galaxy Note 2, which came out after the iPhone 5, it's running the newest android OS 4.1.1 which also came out after the iPhone 5, and I just went to Adobe's website and downloaded Flash just fine.

No tricks, nothing special, just clicked the download link, installed it, went to put locker and started wtaching "TED". Just like I do on my mac.

John is just mad he's still having to defend Apple against flash after 8 years of claiming it dead, just ignore him.

He'll still be here defending for another 8 years.

But good job with the screen shots and supplying the link, those of us with Android devices appreciate it, as we usually here nothing but "it's dead, you can't get it on anything", it's nice to see Adobe has a running list of versions for every Android OS even Jelly Bean, and that it works.

Looks to me like Adobe's development is dead. That doesn't mean that other developers won't come out with their own versions with code licensed from Adobe, but Apple has indicated no intention of doing so. Further commentary on what is happening on Android devices is irrelevant.

Mobile

Flash Player 11.1 is the last release of the Flash Player plug-in for mobile browsers. Adobe will not add support for new mobile device configurations (chipset, browser, OS version, etc.). Adobe will continue to provide critical bug fixes and security updates for existing device configurations through September 2013, and will also allow our source-code licensees to continue working on and releasing their own implementations.

Adobe continues to actively invest in enabling developers to create and deploy Flash based content as mobile (and desktop) applications via Adobe AIR.

Android

Beginning August 15, 2012, the Flash Player plug-in for mobile browsers on Android will only be available on the Google Play Store for devices certified to run Flash Player which are preinstalled with Flash Player. Flash Player is not supported on Android 4.1 and users should uninstall Flash Player prior to upgrading to Android 4.1.

Developers who need ongoing access to released versions of Flash Player for Android can find them in the archive of released Flash Player versions at adobe.com/go/fp_archives. Installations made from the archive will not receive updates through the Google Play Store.

Flash Player plug-in for Android is not supported or available for the Google Chrome browser on Android.
