Why does the HDMI adapter on IPAD 3 not work with IOS 6

I have an IPAD 3 and mirroing worked fine with IOS 5.1.1. The screen and all apps were full screen on any of my TV's. As soon as I updated to IOS 6 the problems started. I first get an error "this accessory is not supported on this IPAD" Now it does mirror to my tv but it is no longer full screen. It is actually very small. This does this for the home screen as well as aps. Does apple have any intention to fix this in IOS 6? Please also do not tell me its a TV issue and I need to adjust settings as everything was working perfectly fine until I upgraded to IOS 6.
