Disabling 2g network only

Hi there,

i need to disable 2g network only and leave 3g on. Googling the Net i found that this is possible for jailbroken iPhones changing tha value of the parameter

GsmRegistrationModel::fRatSelection to 0x2 (where 0x0 is GSM/EDGE ONLY, 0x1 is GSM/EDGE + 3G and 0x2 3G ONLY), so i know that it is possible but i found no way to do this (given a try to profiles too)

Now... I'm not willing to jailbreak my iPhone so i'm still searching for a "legal" way to disable the 2g network, any help apreciated.

iPhone 3GS, iOS 6.1.2

as stated 2g is only used when other network types are absent and when 3g is being used

2g is not so it's not like you can save batt or anything

it's kinda the same as calling up your normal ISP and asking them to just disable your internet connection if heavy load in their end result in you not having the promised speed
