My friend's ipad dropped and the screen cracked and he wants to use the warrranty. So does the warranties for apple cover this

The warranty doesn't cover accidental damage, unless you are in the US with AppleCare+ which covers 2 cases of accidental damage for an excess

I don't know what the price for repair (i.e. replacement) there will be, but in the US it would be $299 for the iPad 3 and 4 and $249 for the iPad 1 and 2
