so my iphone was working fine then it turned itself off and wont turn back on.
I've tried pressing the home button and the power button - hasnt worked.
I've tried charging it but it also hasnt worked.
Any body got any other ideas?

Okay all I went ahead and stood in line before the apple store opened. I got right in with a little wait. The employee hooked my dead phone up and ran a program. The program said my internal hardware was dead. New phone issued
I was out the door with a new phone in about two hours. So if you've followed all of the steps listed on how to turn on your phone and still no joy a visit to the strore may be due.
