How do I connect PC HDMI output to Cinema Display Mini DisplayPort?

I have an HP (PC) laptop with HDMI video output port. I want to connect it to my Apple Cinema Display that has a Mini DisplayPort input. I can find no adaptors on the market that provide a male HDMI to female Mini DisplayPort connection.

I am also using a Kanex SnapX switcher, that allows me to switch the Cinema Display between my Mac Pro and my HP laptop. This switcher provides two cables, one goes to Mac Pro, the other to the laptop. Both cables have a male Mini DisplayPort plug. That is why I need an adaptor that provides a female Mini DisplayPort end, and also a male HDMI end to go into the laptop.

What are my options? Thanks!

Replace the Kanex SnapX with

Thanks. Atlona is very pricey. Kanex XD and Belden do not have 'switcher' functionality.

I actually do not yet have the new HP laptop in hand. What I may do instead is get an HP with Mini DisplayPort... some of the Envy series had it, not sure if newer ones still do.

In this way I could connect the HP directly to my Kanex SnapX switcher. Does this sound like the best option?

The Kanex XD and Belden would be used in conjunction with your Kanex SnapX switcher.

Getting the HP with Mini DisplayPort and use your Kanex SnapX switcher would be better.

Another option is not buying the PC laptop, and instead, install Windows on your Mac Pro (on its own hard drive if possible). You can boot into OS X or Windows via the Option key, or run both at once with Parallels or VMware Fusion.

Alas, my PC laptop is for work, company supplied, so must use it. My understanding from user comments is that Kanex XD and Belden boxes are flakey, and may not support PC (only game boxes, etc)

Get this 5 inch Mini Displayport Female to Displayport Female Coupler:

Then get a DisplayPort to HDMI cable

This combination will enable you to connect your CinemaDisplay (mini-display port) to your HDMI input on your laptop or PC
