What's the difference between GSM and GSM-r2 for iPhone 4?
I understand GSM means it has a sim card, but what's the difference between GSM and GSM-r2 for iPhone 4?
iPhone 4, iOS 6.1.2

Where are you seeing a reference to "GSM-r2"? It's not a designation I've ever seen Apple use, though I could have missed it.
I'm not seeing Apple use it either, saw it on someone's craigslist post so I want to find out if it has something to do with firmware, or maybe it's refirbished. Yahoo answers definitely didn't help, so I came to this forum. I don't think it matters, just curious.
Since there seems to be no information online (revealed by a google search) I would suggest avoiding the device and buy only from an authorized reseller.
Yeah, wasn't really planning to buy, I'm happy enough with the 3GS, eventually I will get a 5. Just checking out prices and it made me wonder. I haven't found much through google either, especially explaining anything, but there is a reference to gsm-r2 (separate from gsm) on a jail break download site. Still have no idea what the difference is, but there seems to be something to it.
