Iphone 4 water damage repair cost at Apple

There are independent iPhone repair services that may be able to replace the screen for less. Do a web search for "iPhone repair". Note, though, that if you elect to have the iPhone serviced by an unauthorized shop, all further support from Apple will be voided.

Indeed, Apple does not cover water damaged devices. There's an LCI (Liquid Contact Indicator) installed in the device and can be checked by a tech to determine whether the unit has been exposed to liquid. If so, the warranty is void. As the user above mentioned, many Third-Party repair sites offer coverage of this sort of damage. Do thorough research and find the vendor most suited for your case. Good luck!

I second the motion that the replacement from apple is $149 USD. That is a really good price actually. If you have AppleCare+ I think you get it replaced for only $49 USD, which is an even better deal!

I work for a repair company that does water damage repairs. We can't always fix water damage, but we do always try to educate our customers on what they SHOULD do the next time a device gets wet. Or more importantly, what NOT to do. Here's a post on our blog about water damage:
