iPhone 4 Ear Speaker

Hi. I own a iPhone 4 and I feel as if there is something wrong with my ear speaker. Whenever I'm in a call, the ear speaker sounds as if it's on speaker phone or as if it's not loud enough. Is it possible that it might be damaged or dirty?
