i want to upload the songs to ipad mini from my laptop. it says if i sync that it will lost all of my files in my ipad. what sholud i do?

I assume that you have used your iPd without syncing yet so now iTunes does not recognize the contents of the device as being the same as the contents in the library on your computer. You need to transfers purchases, and backup, restore from the backup and then you can sync.
