Charging is not supported with this accessory!

Hi Everyone,

I recently bought a iPhone 3GS on ebay and it did not come with no charger.

So i used my friends iPhone 4 one and it came to life, the battery was only 5% so i let it charge.

3 Hours later it is still at 5% with a notification saying Charging is not supported with this accessory,

i have no idea on how to fix, i have tried blowing the dock connector and cable, still no sucess.

By the way i am running iOS 6.1.3

Please Help!

Look closer at the dock connector...doesn't take much in the way of crud on a pin to short out & produce that message. Also, look for any bent pins...they'll produce the same message. Use canned air & a soft toothbrush.

I did look at found dust, so i cleaned it, but still no success.

You can try a different USB cable, but 99% of the time, the problem is with your dock connector.

There's most likely a hardware issue with this phone, either a bad battery or something with the dock connector. Make an appointment at an Apple store, the genius bar can tell you exactly what the issue is.
