my iphone 4s wont connect to my laptop to use itunes i have literally tried everything does anybody have any ideas??

i have reset my phone, uninstalled and reinstalled i tunes and tried different cables it doesnt recognise it at all i think it could be broken

What version of the iOS is on your phone?
iOS 6 requires iTunes 10.7 or 11 on your computer.
If iTunes 11 use the View menu to View Sidebar. Your iPhone should show up in the sidebar.
Are you using the same cable you charge your phone with?
Try a different USB port on your computer.
Try cleaning your contacts on both the cable and the iPhone, if you are still having problems you should take your iPhone to your nearest Apple Store for service.
it has the newest software on it iOS 6.1.3 and it is the same cable i use to charge it with, its fine when its chraging but it wont connect to my itunes or my USB port in my car either, do iphones come with a gueantee from apple for 1 year if so i will just take it back
