No sound without headphones on my 4S

Yesterday afternoon, my phone decided to go on the fritz. I attempted to do a soft restart, and it decided I needed to fully reset it. I have done so twice now, and it still doesn't really want to cooperate. The sound is currently not working without headphones. The volume buttons do nothing, and the volume bar does not appear in apps unless headphones are plugged in. The mute switch is turned off, and I have tried the trick where you blow into the headphone and docking jacks. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
