Hi there,
we downloaded the App "Lego Star Wars the Yoda Chronicles" from iTunes but couldn't install it on the iPod-Touch of my son. It says that we need a digital compass for this game. Is it possible to use a compass app to make this game work?

You need GPS for compass to function.
...and iPod-Touch doesn't have GPS?
Did you notice that the rquirements for the app only says iPads and iPhones:
Requirements: Compatible with iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPad 2 Wi-Fi, iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G, iPad (3rd generation), iPad Wi-Fi + 4G, iPad (4th generation), iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular (4th generation), iPad mini and iPad mini Wi-Fi + Cellular. Requires iOS 5.0 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.
