App notifications not clearing when opened (instagram, Facebook, foursquare, etc)

my instagram, facebook, and foursquare notifications aren't automatically clearing from the notification center once i click on them or open them. i have to manually click the x and then press clear to make them go away. just had the phone for 2 days. its not normal is it? any help is greatly appreciated!
