It was weird today i had my phone charge over night then it read 100% battery all day untill about an hour ago it just died now it wont charge all it reads is the red battery and the lightning bolt can someone please help me out?

If your iPhone is showing the red battery I would charge it for a while according to the "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" section of this article:

If the iPhone continues to power off before it's expected to, also see the "Battery life seems short" section of that article.
