Restart the phone by holding down the Sleep/wake button and home button together for 18-20 seconds. If that doesn't work reset all settings. Still no success. Erase all contents and settings after backing up and set up as a new device. No success after that contact apple.

Only thing thats worked for me was to cover with a bit of tape the noise suppression mic ( small pinhole, top of phone, next to audio jack). Take the tape off and no one hears me during calls, put it back on and everyone can hear me.....

It's also cheaper than going out and buying a galaxy phone....

Since two days, I'm having the same issue! Mic works fine, except during calls. It doesn't work when using the phone in a normal way. But if I hold the mic directly in front of my mouth and talk a bit louder, it works. The mic also works when using in 'speaker' mode.

Placing a small piece of tape over the 'noise supporession mic' on top of the iPhone (small hole next to audio jack), the problem was 'solved'.
