upgrading to ios 7, cannot connect to apple store to activate iphone

Apple is working on the software updating servers so you need to wait!

Same problem here. iPhone 5, tried activating over wifi and also via iTunes connected to my Haswell MacBook Air and errors on both. No fun...

same problem. i'm completely locked out of my phone. what is the issue here? iphone 4s, macbook pro. updated and restored using itunes 11.1

same problem with ipad mini i restore to ios 7 and it not active. sorry i dont now english

Is this issue going on for all the devices or just the iPhones? I don't want to lock myself out of anything else at this point...

It's usual when ever apple releases a new update of this massive, You just need to wait till the load on the servers decreases.

Still trying but the prob;em persists. My iPad mini upgraded just fine though with no problem. I'll say that iOS7 is running very nicely on the mini. Crisp perfromance and the new UI makes it tons easier to read and deal with.

Same problem on my iPad 2.. looks like it's not just iPhone that is facing this problem.

Same problem here. Getting used to the idea I probably won't have use of my phone for the rest of the day. My mistake was attempting to eject a USB drive as the software was upgrading on the iPhone (4s). Immediately received an error message and was forced to select Restore iPhone as my only option. After Restore successfully completed getting the phone to factory settings with ios7 loaded, the activation process began. This is where the nightmare took over. Activation needs to contact the Apple Servers via iTunes Store apparently. So, yeah, gonna have to wait until the US is asleep tonight to get through, in all likelihood. Would have been nice had Apple posted a clearer warning to disconnect all other peripherals during upgrade. But with Jobs now dead, there's not as much interest in attempting to simulate how users might break the system before public release. Ah well. Nothing for it now but to wait.

This is crap, my iphone 5 updated and then I tried my ipad 2. Crash and burn. Put some money into your servers apple you have the money.

same problem with my ipod touch 5. I'm so ****** off right now. they made me restore my ipod and now I can't "activate" it because "the server cannot be reached." uggghhhh

Same problem here. iPhone 4. MacBook Air. Probably just Apple's servers. Phone is stuck in iOS 7 setup mode

True, you would think Apple would learn. Every year it seems to get worse.

Apple need to invest in more robust servers, or release the update at different times for different devices.
