ios 7 download asking for itunes update

I am trying to update my iPhone 5 and 4S to IOS7, both having been backed-up and apps updated. But when I click on check update, it says the following

A new iPhone software version (7.0) is available, but requires iTunes 11.0.5. Would you like to download iTunes 11.0.5 now?

But my iTunes is already 11.0.5. When I click on Download iTunes, it takes me to App Store but with nothing to update. I have restarted iTunes and both phones but with the same results.

I would like to avoid updating over the air if possible.

same here. I tried it thru app store and thru itunes and it says my itunes is up to date - yet i can't update my ipad.

where is itunes 11.1? Its not in app store and it is not available when "check for updates" is selected thru itunes

Been trying to download iTunes 11.1 from the Apple website http://www.apple.com/my/itunes/download/. It is the latest iTunes, not 11.0.5.

Still having problems as the website didn't download after clicking "Download". Nothing in my Firefox or my Download folder.

In the meantime, my 4S went into auto-update even without doing anything. I realised when I checked the Software Update screen and it has been on "Preparing Update" - been that for the last 30 minutes.

My first time ever having problems with iOS update!!

i downloaded iTunes 11.1 from the apple website, then back to software update, and it seems to be working now... http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

I got the same thing. I am updating from the phone itself. It can be found in Settings > General > Software Update.

Same Problem -

Running Windows 8 (64 bit) w/ iTunes 11.0.5.5 (64 bit)

This link (http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/)takes me to iTunes download 11.0.5 (64 bit), NOT 11.1.

Is 11.1 available for Windows 8?

Also available for 64 bit?

That link still gives me 11.0.5. I am on 10.6.8..is that an issue?

I get the same error... then the apple.com itunes site above takes me to iTunes 11.0.5 NOT 11.1 for Mac OSX. Also when I try to update through the air, it sais my current iOS 6.1.4 is current and no update is available.

Messy Apple.
