Yesterday I update to ios 7 and when I try to use word definition or manage dictionaries ibooks crashes. Does anyone have the same problem? Does anyone knows how to solve this?

Try a Restart.

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

Resetting your settings

You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.

Resetting your device

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.

Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.

Here is a link to their contacts with most of the information below.

I have the same problem . . . iPhone 4S, iOS 7.0.3

The define function worked just fine before I downloaded the dictionaries. It froze when they were downloading, so I killed app and restarted it. I can read along just fine, but if I try to use the "define" function, it freezes interminably again.

I've tried restarting, and syncing my device. I'd really rather NOT reset my phone. This is just one of a string of instability and reliability problems that the 7.0.3 update introduced. I'm disappointed, since over the last couple of years I've had zero problems with iOS. Fingers crossed that they come out with an update stat . . . and I'm so glad that they amped up the "turn off the animations" setting so my phone is only about half as slow switching apps now as it was before the update . . .
