Has nothing to do with provider, live in Holland. Have same problems with all routers I connect to with phone.
Ipad no problems though. Just glad atm my wifi button is unfrozen now, afraid to reset it again.
No official statement from apple atm?
Interesting. No wifi issues after updating our devices; iPhone 5, 4s and iPad 3 to iOS 7. Verizon for cellular, Century Link for ISP and modem.
Ok, now my wifi button is frozen again and lot of Apps not opening anymore.
Getting pretty annoyed atm....why dont people test stuff before they send update or give option to rollback
I don't know. Why do people upgrade to the new iOS before reading any reviews? Why do so many people rush and clamor to get the new, shiny update without reading the terms & conditions? Why do people click 'Agree' instead of reading the terms & conditions?
I don't know.
I purchased the Iphone 5s with Verizon and the wifi works at home and at work but it will constantly drop it and go to cell data which of course eats up my cell data quota. I have also noticed that the cell signal strength is much lower than it used to be. I have turned off cell data and am testing if that keeps the wifi signal or drops it. Sounds like a bug in the software. Hope apple addresses it sooner rather than later.
It seems that with cell data off the wifi doesn't drop the connection and go to 3G or lte. I think that for some reason if the wifi signal is less than the cell signal it goes for the stronger signal? Just a guess. Either way that is bad when you don't have a lot of data in your cell plan.
Ok, I'm home, I have made my SSID visible, I have made the 7.02 update.
It still disconnects !!
How can we let Apple know that there is a problem with the wifi ?!
I have read articles, people complain about stupid matters, like the fonts or the background...those are not problems, THIS IS A PROBLEM !!!
And it manifests on the most expensive products (I have the iPad 4 cellular), the iPhone 4S works just fine.
I would like to provide an update on my situation with the iPhone 5. I reset all of my settings, changed the name on my iPhone to remove the apostrophe, did a hard reset, installed the bug fix (didn't fix the wifi), did another hard reset out of sheer desperation. Now I am mailing my pretty much useless phone to Apple so they can fix it. My phone worked very well before the software update. I regret updating so much and would tell everyone I know not to upgrade.
What phone did u send back. 4s or 5? Just curious.
I am sending my iPhone 5 back. The software update seemed to permanently disable all of its wifi capabilities. I guess they will either fix it or send me a new one. It is hard to believe that it is the hardware though, because it worked perfectly prior to the iOS 7 update.
And this was after talking to Apple's Technical Support over the phone and nothing we tried would work.
Same exact thing happened to me with my iPhone 5. Mailing it to them today. Thank gosh I am still under my 90 day warranty. This makes me lose faith in my iPhone.
Forget the wifi network you're having issues with and then attempt to reconnect to it (you'll have to re-enter the security code it it has one). This often works. Otherwise go into Setting>General>Resent and then reset Network Setting.
How is that helpful in any way, TJBUSMC1973? Why are you in this forum? I wish I hadn't upgraded, but I did. Didn't help that the media was covering nothing but how intiutive and pretty the new OS is. You have to dig for any of the negative stuff about it. Why is that? Maybe the cell service providers are happy no one can get wifi now so that they can rake in the dough due to overage charges.
Exactly what I wast thinking. And just where will the reviews come from unless some people download it? Besides that, there is a reasonable expectation on the part of the Apple consumer that the product will be operational and free of major bugs and glitches.
