Since IOS7 update my music player just wont work on ipad mini???

It just keeps scrolling through all the tracks and wont play anything. then out of knowwhere a random track will start playing and i cant play the track i want. tried all the usual resets, any advice ?

i initially thought it was stuck on shuffel all and it was just buffering the tracks, but it jumps from one track to the next without playing. a tiny little graphic equalizer symbol comes up next to the song title but then jumps to next track.

iPad, iOS 7.0.2, ipad mini

Hi andyxjones,

Welcome to the Support Communities!

As a first step, I would suggest quitting the Music app:

iOS: Force an app to close

http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137

Then restart and/or reset the iPad:

iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430

If these two options don't resolve your issue, then see page 119 in the iPad User Guide to Reset All Settings

manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1595/en_US/ipad_user_guide.pdf

Go to Settings > General > Reset, then choose an option:

Reset All Settings: All your preferences and settings are reset.

The variable that has changed with iOS 7 is the "Show All Music" option in Settings > iTunes & App Store. This feature displays your iTunes in the Cloud purchases on your device (while they are not locally stored). You can identify these by the "cloud download" icon on the right. You can choose to hide your iTunes in the Cloud purchases if you wish by disabling this feature.

Hopefully, this will get you back on track ...
