How do I update my iPod touch 4th gen to iOS7?

iOS 7 is not available for the 4th generation iPod touch. It requires a 5th generation iPod touch. As to jailbreaking, that is an unauthorized modification and cannot be discussed here, though I will say you would be wise not to do that.

As posted on Apples website since June, ios 7 is only compatible with the 5th gen ipod touch.

Jailbreaking cannot be discussed here. It is a violation of the software license agreement, voids the warranty, gets no support form Apple or this forum, and can render your device useless.
