I would add that yes, I have read all of the preceding posts, and no, none of them works, at least for me.
Has the procedure changed with the latest OS (Mavericks) ?
The location has changed in Pages 5, which requires Mavericks, but it should still be the same for Pages "09 in Mavericks. This "preceding post" discusses the change.
Even simpler, in Pages 5, you can apparently right click (Control click; two-finger click) on the template in the template chooser to get a menu that allows you to delete it.
Thanks so much Jeff. It worked on the MacBook, but not on the iMac......shall try again with the technique you recommend.
Jeff...
On the iMac, I followed your instructions, found the templates as promised, and dragged three of them into the trash, restarted, and then returned to 'New Document', only to find them still there in the Template box!
This didn't happen with the MacBook. Baffled, as usual....
Nick
You didn't say which version of Pages you are referring to.
If it is Pages 5, you manage your templates in the Template Chooser. Right clicking on them should let you rename or delete them.
Peter
Pete, Am still on Pages 4.3......and on checking the MacBook today, I find that the 'deleted' templates are still in that page too. Persistent devils - they just won't leave......
Forgive me...it is Pages 5. Getting totally confused between IOS7 and Mavericks.
Thanks.
Just found that the easy way to delete Pages 5 Template using Mavericks is to open New Doc, select My Templates, select the template you want to delete whilst holding down the ctrl key, and you can delete - or rename.
Right-Clicking, as Peter suggests above, is the equivalent to Control-Clicking, no matter what you are trying to do.

Ah right - but I'm using a MacBook Air without a mouse so felt quite pleased with my discovery! :-)
Right-Click, or Control-click is referred to as Secondary Click in some contexts. On your MBA there are 4 options for doing a Secondary-Click without reaching for the Control key. I prefer the two-finger tap, but there are 3 others in the setup menu in System Preferences > Trackpad > Point and Click.
I hope you are enjoying your MBA.
Jerry
Yay!
