I lost my iphone 5 on 25/12/2013. Should i erase my iphone in icloud or leave it until my phone is online?

I lost my iphone 5 on 25/12/13 and already done lost mode in icloud.com and make a report. I has been checked icloud.com to find my iphone but until today it show offline. Should i erase my iphone in icloud or leave it until my phone is online?

If the thief reset the phone, will it also erase the product serial no. which already registered in Apple? if the new user connect to itune and register the phone, will it show this phone already registered by other user and it was a lost phone. Am i still able to track my iphone if i didnt erase my iphone in Apple and icloud?

You cannot do anything until it comes online.

Thanks your comment. Is that possibility the thief log in his Apple ID account using my iphone?

That should make no difference unless the thief erases the device. In this case you no longer can track it.

My iphone got passcode when start operating and already set lost mode to lock it when lost, how the thief can erase it? If they force to erase the device, they need to register the device when they want to download apps from itune / Apps store, are Itune / Apps store will detect the device is already registered under my account? Should i request my carrier services to block the device using the device serial no.?
